Republic news has received word through internal sources that a terrorist attack has rocked a secure Republic facility. While the location of the facility was undisclosed, images have surfaced of what appears to be a large complex on fire. A trusted source indicated that the attack happened during a military training exercise, and is not believed to be linked to the Confederacy of Independent Systems at this time. The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the timing, target, and execution of the attack suggests an intricate knowledge of the Republic military.

Early indications are that the attack may have been intended to conceal thefts that have been taking place at the facility, as equipment, vehicles, and armor that appeared on official manifests did not appear to be present during a post-attack inspection. Furthermore, key personnel at the facility appear to be missing, suggesting those responsible have kidnapped or killed multiple high ranking individuals at the facility. Unfortunately, without any leads, it is unlikely the true motivation behind the attack will be known anytime soon.
